Position Highlights: Part-time, Hybrid position Salary: $35,000-$40,000 annually Reports to the Executive Director Company Overview: Our client, The Early Childhood Alliance, is committed to collective impact centered on equity, participatory process, and building trusted relationships. Their mission is to advocate for and coordinate comprehensive community-based supports for young children and their caregivers that promote equity and honor strengths and diversity. Position Overview: The ECA Finance Manager is responsible for developing and monitoring all agency budgets and fiscal reports as well as providing oversight of the agency's fiscal operations including multiple funding streams (donations, state and local grant funds, and member contributions). What You Will Be Responsible For: Agency-wide Think strategically about the agency's mission and operations in order to balance the needs and vision of the agency's operations with the funding sources and financial capacity. Work closely with the Executive Director, Director of Collective Impact, Leadership Team and the agency's Board of Directors. Write checks, prepare deposits, submit payroll through ADP, use QuickBooks to help manage the ECA's finances and perform accounting and bookkeeping functions. Prepare monthly grant expense reports using Quickbooks data for Executive Director to submit Create annual agency and grant-funded budgets and revise current year budgets in cooperation with agency leadership and Board of Directors. Provide quarterly updates to the Executive Director, Director of Collective Impact, Treasurer of the Board and the entire Board of Directors on actual agency results versus projections. Develop, monitor and report on cash flow projections and balances. Manage the balance sheet: monitor and make recommendations about cash balances and potential investment accounts to the Executive Director, Director of Collective Impact, Treasurer of the Board, and the entire Board of Directors. Further develop and manage cost allocation systems across multiple funding streams. Agency Controls and Oversight Provide oversight of the agency's Accounts Payable and Receivable transactions Oversee bank deposits and monthly reconciliation process Provide oversight of government grant fiscal requirements Working with the Executive Director and Board Treasurer, update and implement written Fiscal Standard Operating Procedures Working with the Executive Director and Director of Collective Impact, update, implement, oversee and maintain sound accounting systems appropriate for a small not for profit organization Monitor and maintain adequate internal fiscal controls Working with the Executive Director and Director of Collective Impact, provide the necessary support to our External Auditor Working with the Executive Director and Director of Collective Impact, regularly reconcile development contribution records with agency accounting records Program-Related Fiscal Responsibilities Provide budgeting support to grant programs and prepare monthly/ quarterly reports as needed for different programs and funding sources Ensure fiscal compliance with agency's government grants Provide budget and financial reporting assistance for grant and funding proposals Meetings Regularly participate in administrative meetings as needed Participate in ECA Board of Directors and committee meetings as necessary Represent ECA at community events and meetings as needed Other Perform and fulfill other responsibilities as requested Maintain regular and predictable attendance and timeliness when in person meetings are scheduled Act as a team member in group efforts and on general projects and organizational needs Promote positive, congenial and professional relationships with staff What You Bring to the Role: Must possess a bachelor's degree. At least 5 years of accounting or finance experience preferably including experience in the non-profit/ social service sector. CPA or MBA is a plus but not required. Experience with federal and state grants is helpful. Must have good command of the English language and grammar, both written and verbal. Fluency in a second language is preferred but not necessary. Must be able to communicate effectively with leadership, staff, funders and auditors. Must be able to work cooperatively with others, maintain a high level of professionalism, and make effective decisions under pressure. Must be able to work in a diverse environment. Must be able to work independently as well as follow directions. Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional documents, journals, regulations, standards and procedural manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English. Must have excellent math skills relating to accounting and finance. Must be proficient in QuickBooks as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to solve problems and anticipate needs and problems. Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of variables and situations. Ability to interpret and execute a variety of instructions, and directives in writing, verbal or schedule form. Attention to detail is a must. Compensation, Benefits, and Job Structure: This is a part-time, hybrid position: 20 hours per week, with an annual salary of $35,000 - $40,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
