Job Summary Lead efforts in lifecycle management for products produced at our Champaign, IL factory and with global supply partners. Specifically focusing on the latter phases of the product lifecycle to maintain, analyze, and improve product ranges to promote quality, meet customer expectations, and support continual improvement efforts of our manufacturing operations. This role leads efforts across the organizations for products, process, and customer support for all product divisions, including track and field, basketball, volleyball, and a wide range of construction solutions for both indoor and outdoor applications. Qualifications 1-3 years of experience with bachelor's degree in engineering, or similar Experience in product development Ability to work independently and in a team environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Capable of advancing multiple projects concurrently with hard deadlines Proficient with SolidWorks a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, architectural drawings, and technical specifications Primary Responsibilities Lead efforts to maintain, analyze, and improve product ranges to meet divisional expectations Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives efforts to achieve robust solutions that meet organizational needs Coordinate and consult with colleagues to understand and problem solve product improvement efforts Evaluate and improve current products based on performance, safety, serviceability, and production methods Lead testing and evaluation efforts to assess functionality, durability, and quality improvements across all product ranges Evaluate, adjust, and/or develop technical specifications for equipment, component, and material modifications Create, manage, and amend ERP data to meet organizational needs to support Sales and Manufacturing Teams Synthesize market opportunities, user needs, and production processes into impactful product solutions Embrace prototyping to evaluate, test, and improve designs Present designs/ideas to all levels of the organization and external partners, including global partners Create detailed production drawings and define specifications with computer aided design software Analyze design challenges and advise appropriate course of action, leveraging failure mode, risk analysis, and other evaluation tools/methods Collaborate to problem solve and seek out opportunities to explore/share ideas with the team Accurately enter, access, and retrieve data from company information system which includes responsibility for Bill-of-Materials, production cost, technical specifications, and production drawings. Direct and oversee production of offshore and domestic suppliers as required Marginal Responsibilities Field Service calls/travel as assigned On-site support of NCAA Track and Field Championships as assigned Troubleshoot product use/installation over telephone with customers and/or installers Other duties as assigned Psychological Considerations Must be able to work well with others as a team member Must be able to work with employees at all levels of the company Must be able to maintain an approachable demeanor even in stressful situations Environmental Considerations Work activity is typically indoors in a controlled environment Some travel, including occasional international destinations is expected (approximately 10%) Occasional walks through manufacturing area includes exposure to temperature extremes Occasional field visits and associated travel Cognitive Considerations Must be willing and able to expand knowledge base Physiological Considerations Standard office work sitting at a computer terminal and using a keyboard
