A client of ours is looking for a proactive and motivated Administrative Assistant to support the administration of a nursing department. This Administrative Assistant role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to provide clerical support effectively.Salary/Hourly Rate$20 per hour.Position OverviewThe ideal candidate for this Administrative Assistant position will possess a strong organizational mindset, excellent problem-solving abilities, and an eagerness to work in a dynamic educational or healthcare setting. This Administrative Assistant does not need to have many years of experience, but willing to learn and jump right in. This Administrative Assistant must be okay working in Staten Island.Responsibilities Of The Administrative AssistantProvide exceptional communication and organizational support when interacting with faculty, students, staff, and external parties.Address problems independently or escalate issues as necessary.Represent the department positively within the academic and healthcare communities.Assist in the collection and management of clinical and classroom data.Support graduation planning and execution.Record and organize minutes for faculty and committee meetings.Perform clerical tasks, including filing student records and managing spreadsheets.Collect and verify new faculty paperwork for compliance.Prepare applications and registrations for graduating students.Manage calendars for department leaders.Handle phone calls, messages, and other correspondence.Maintain office supplies and inventory.Complete data reports and manage assigned projects in a timely manner.Follow established procedures while exercising independent judgment.Attend work regularly and reliably.Perform additional duties as required. Qualifications Of The Administrative AssistantAt least 2 years of experience in an administrative assistant role.Proficiency in administrative writing, Microsoft Office, and administrative processes.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.Experience in supply management or inventory control.Excellent verbal communication abilities.Must have exposure to systems like ADP or MS Tools (training available, but should be quick to learn).Must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills.Must have effective communication, organizational abilities, and familiarity with educational or healthcare settings (familiarity with systems like Canvas or CampusVue preferred, but not required).
