The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of compliance professionals in the U.S. and providing oversight for compliance in Bermuda and Canada. This role involves managing various compliance teams, including corporate regulatory reporting, industry and state reporting, and agency/broker management. The Head of Compliance will be expected to design and implement a robust compliance framework, work closely with internal stakeholders, and stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends to ensure the company's operations adhere to legal requirements and best practices. The position also requires the development of processes for managing information relevant to the company's operations, as well as the ability to build positive working relationships with key functions and senior leadership. Candidates for this role should have at least 10 years of financial services experience, with a strong background in legal, compliance, and/or regulatory matters, preferably within the commercial property and casualty insurance sector. Experience in global or large-sized carriers is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing people and high-level projects, including the implementation of corporate compliance programs. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and project management skills are essential, as is the ability to interact with regulatory authorities and handle enforcement proceedings. The role requires a team-oriented individual with a professional demeanor, high emotional intelligence, and a commitment to excellence. A legal or compliance background, experience with board presentations, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are also key attributes sought.
