The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the division, managing a team of engineering and construction managers, and ensuring that all engineering activities align with the company's objectives. This role involves providing oversight and approval for the design and construction of new facilities, supporting long-term construction plans, and identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies. The VP, Engineering will also be involved in budget planning, staff development, and maintaining strong internal and external relationships. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, with a power option preferred, and a minimum of 10 years' experience in the electric utility industry. A Master's degree in engineering management or business administration is desirable. The role requires a Registered Professional Engineer certification and experience in engineering design, construction, and maintenance of electrical utility systems. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of utility operations, construction, and maintenance, as well as experience in a union environment. Strong leadership, communication, and management skills are essential, as is the ability to work with multiple priorities and ensure a safe workplace.
