This role focuses on cultivating and managing a robust donor portfolio, spearheading prospect research, and fostering impactful relationships with supporters. Reporting to the Senior Director of Philanthropy, the Director collaborates closely with leadership, board members, and the entire LCRF team to drive organizational goals and amplify LCRF's impact within the lung cancer community. This role requires a proactive approach to relationship-building, strategic coordination, and alignment with LCRF's organizational priorities. Responsibilities: · Development Strategy: Collaborate with the Senior Director of Philanthropy to craft and implement a comprehensive major gift strategy that enhances donor acquisition, retention, and growth. Lead innovative cultivation and stewardship efforts across the donor base, ensuring alignment between donor interests and LCRF's impactful initiatives in research, education, and community engagement. · Major Gift Solicitation: Manage a dynamic portfolio of major donors, securing gifts of $5,000-$99,000 through targeted cultivation and solicitation. Lead donor meetings, craft compelling proposals, presentations, and stewardship reports, and drive innovative fundraising approaches. Increase support through gifts of stock, donor advised funds, and planned giving opportunities. · Major Gift Stewardship: Drive donor retention by ensuring supporters understand the impact of their gifts. Foster meaningful relationships with donors by collaborating with the LCRF team to craft tailored stewardship strategies that showcase the full spectrum of LCRF's initiatives. · Corporate Solicitation: Strengthen the pipeline of corporate supporters by leveraging donor relationships and cultivating connections with key leaders. Encourage donors to introduce LCRF to influential decision-makers to foster new partnerships. Work with the broader LCRF team to ensure clear communication and effective follow-through from introductions to partnership execution. · Prospect Research and Qualification: Oversee prospect research to identify and qualify major gift donors, as well as corporate and foundation giving opportunities. Develop potential within the existing donor base while proactively identifying new prospects through comprehensive landscape research. Advise team members on the best use of research tools. · Data and Reporting: Leverage data-driven insights and best practices in donor engagement to strengthen relationships and maximize philanthropic impact. Maintain accurate records and provide regular progress reports to leadership, including revenue forecasts, donor activity, and key performance metrics. · Other: Contribute to the success of key development initiatives, including the gala, cultivation events, and annual giving activities, as needed. Qualifications: · Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree required. At least 5+ years in development, including 2+ years of securing major gifts of $10,000 or more. · Certifications: CFRE certification preferred. · Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communicator with the ability to deliver engaging and persuasive presentations. · Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Blackbaud RE NXT is required; familiarity with Classy preferred. · Fundraising Knowledge: Strong understanding of major gifts, pipeline development, grant writing, donor stewardship, corporate development, and fundraising ethics. · Accountability: Excellent attention to detail, adherence to timelines, and ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and accountability. · Mindset: Passionate about advancing research to improve lives, with sound judgment, a quick learning ability, and a proactive, can-do attitude.
