The American Federation of Musicians and Employers Pension Fund (AFM-EPF) is a defined benefit multi-employer pension plan for members of the American Federation of Musicians. Position Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely accounting data for AFMEPF. The successful candidate will need to be able to work as a team with two other accountants in standardizing practices and procedures. The candidate will need to possess good problem-solving and time management skills. The position will support various aspects of the financial cycle as well as assisting in the annual audit. The position also requires general accounting responsibilities, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Responsibilities: Manages accounts payable process and maintaining correct financial records Process the remote bank deposits for checks receive daily Process the Locals annual agreement for remitting pension payments to the Fund Prepares a monthly schedule for returned checks, bank charges and statement discrepancies Reconciles Trustees expenses Prepares monthly reconciliation for all other expense accounts Prepares yearly analysis of legal expenses and activities for budget reporting Responds to information request in support for annual audit Serves as backup for the other Accountants in their absence Miscellaneous specific fund reporting or projects requested by Accounting Manager or Director of Finance Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field 2+ years of proven work experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.) Knowledge and ability to use Business Central or similar ERP accounting software Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal, analytical and conceptual skills required Preferred/Plus: Knowledge of defined benefit pension plans Non-profit accounting principles Positive, can-do attitude with a solutions-oriented approach to your work LI-Hybrid The pay range for this role is: 55,000 - 60,000 USD per year(Fund Office) PI8dc79fa7d837-35216-36471762
