Job DescriptionThe Terminal Manager is responsible for leading safe operations while delivering high service/quality and overall cost performance of the terminal. The Terminal Manager will interact with all levels of company personnel to collaboratively develop opportunities to reduce freight cost. This position is responsible to lead a team of Company Drivers and/or Owner Operators as well as terminal staff, in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Director, Region Operations.Essential Job FunctionsManage, direct, and lead all functions within a terminal. Primary areas of accountability include: productivity, service, safety, CSA performance, loaded mile ratio, driver retention, working driver percentage, cost per dray management, and asset managementResponsible for the creation and implementation of an annual yearly business plan for the Terminal, along with Terminal strategiesConduct monthly results reviews of all key accountability areasDevelop and deliver internal and external strategies to provide superior service to customers. Implement, analyze and monitor to ensure, service goals, expenses, budgetsSupport customer relationships when required and ensure that safety, service, and quality measures are implemented, audited and monitored for correctionsEnsure that a safe working environment is provided for all employees and owner operator contractorsEnforce understanding and compliance with all Company policies and procedures, Code of Conduct, and federal and state Department of Transportation rules and regulationsCreate an atmosphere of trust and teamwork that values the contributions of all employees and owner operator contractors in support of a high performance cultureLead efforts and special project teams as neededLead and develop internal staff through the use of individual development plans, goal setting and monthly results reviews.nThey should also provide on the spot coaching when neededConduct semiannual performance appraisals with their office staffLeads the terminal by demonstrating a "can do" attitude with a "will do" work ethic and a strong sense of self-initiativeDuties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to timeMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience with a Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain or Business preferredAt least 5-7 years' experience in transportation management along with a thorough, demonstrated understanding of terminal operationsKnowledge of transportation operations and laws, federal safety regulations and maintenance requirements preferredEffective verbal, written and interpersonal skills in addition to a proven track record of successDemonstrated ability to plan, manage, direct and lead multiple tasks at onceComputer proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Knowledge of Transportation Software is a plusSalary Range: $90,000 - 100,000/year (all in package) This is an estimated range based on the circumstances at the time of posting, however it may change based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, education, market factors, geographical location, budget, and demand.
