The Senior Associate Scientist is responsible for managing, reporting, and investigating of in-process materials, stability samples and final products. The Senior Associate Scientist is a lead contributor to the departments success by being able to train newer members and develop processes and experiments.• Conducts routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, stability samples & final product• Graphs, summarizes and reports test results• Develops new testing methods for screening new products or maximizing product reliability• Evaluates new technologies and methods to make recommendations regarding their use• Investigates or reports questionable test results• Investigates customer complaints regarding quality• Creates/ organizes and manages training documents and SOPs so they are reviewed, updated and retrievable• May train/supervise technicians to perform laboratory procedures and assays• Performs tissue culture work, including cell line expansion, maintenance, and characterization• Performs studies to improve cell lines for robustness, stability and productivity• Compiles several standard operating procedures (SOPS) for quality control, cell culture, and general protocols
