We are looking for a Freelance Assistant Designer with intimate apparel and/or lingerie experience for a top fashion company in New York City. Work within a specific classification and implement the category leader's direction in all aspects of the design process, trend research, sketching, following up through development and execution of the final product. This is a hybrid position located in New York, NY and requires 1-3 days onsite.Responsibilities:Work closely with category leader to design category-specific product based on design direction givenFully owning the Tech Pack process from initial start to working with tech on POMs and to the finalized updates to Bulk ProductionDevelop seasonal product with a focus on style, aesthetic, functionality, fabric, details, color, etc.Learn and understand the ins-and-outs of the details related to a specific classificationPerform daily follow-up using email and PLMWork with CAD team on prints and patterns if applicableInteract with Merchants and Production to develop working partnershipPrepare presentation boards for monthly meetingsObserve presentation techniques and be prepared to make preliminary presentationsMaintain daily running or classification while designer travels including fit sessionsPerform preliminary seasonal design researchAbility to manage samples in an organized and efficient way for easy access in a pinchPerform other duties as requiredAble to work in a hybrid environment, meaning that some work may be performed remotely but certain essential functions must be performed in-person/in-office based on the needs of the business.In person/in-office collaboration is required, the frequency of such in-person/in-office collaboration (e.g., portion of week, entire week) is dictated by business needs.
