THE ROLE: As a Management Accountant, you will play a vital role in managing the financial performance of four of the Group''s UK operating companies. Reporting directly to twoFinance Business Partners, you will work alongside a team of four Management Accountants to produce monthly management accounts, support income recognition and oversee overhead reconciliation. This role offers substantial responsibility and autonomy while providing the support of a highly experienced finance team, making it an ideal position for someone ambitious and looking to advance their career in finance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Reporting and Planning: Monthly Management Accounts: Produce detailed monthly management accounts for our agencies Harvard, Teamspirit, Good Relations, and Someone, including insightful commentary on material variances for review by Finance Business Partners. Month-End Close: Prepare and post all month-end income, cost accruals, prepayments, and reclassification journals, ensuring accurate reconciliation with the finance system. KPI and Forecast Reporting: Provide monthly reporting on actuals, forecasts, key performance indicators(KPIs), and variance analysis through the TM1 consolidation tool. Collaborative Forecasting: Work closely with account teams, department heads, and Finance Business Partners to ensure forecasts accurately reflect income and costs, followed by review sessions with Finance Business Partners. Annual Budgeting: Assist in preparing the annual budget, collaborating with key stakeholders. Statutory Accounts and Audit Support: Support the annual preparation of statutory accounts and tax packs, liaising with external auditors as required. Supplier Spend Management and Payments: Overhead Spend Control: Authorise and manage all spending related to overheads, ensuring alignment with the forecast. Invoice Processing: Code and authorise all overhead invoices, ensuring appropriate approvals are in place. Payment Runs: Review and authorise weekly payment runs, ensuring accuracy of payees and payment amounts. Personnel Forecasting, Reconciliation and Payroll: Personnel Forecasting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel and freelance forecasts, reflecting starters, leavers, pay changes, and other amendments. Payroll Review: Perform monthly payroll reconciliations, ensuring alignment of payroll reports with the personnel and freelance forecasts. Freelance Management: Approve freelance invoices, ensuring they comply with agreed engagement terms and have supporting timesheets, while regularly reconciling costs to the forecast and balance sheet accruals. Balance Sheet Management and Controls Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Complete full balance sheet reconciliations and prepare monthly balance sheet reporting packs for review by Finance Business Partners and submission to the Deputy CFO. Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to all financial processes and controls across the business, driving accuracy and accountability. Income Recognition: Accurate Forecasting: Collaborate with account teams to ensure income forecasts are up-to-date and accurate. Billing Review: Conduct weekly reviews of billings, accrued, and deferred income to maintain financial accuracy. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: An ACCA or CIMA studying Accountant, who is both technically competent and has excellent levels of accuracy and attention to detail, with a well-rounded understanding of business in general. You must have at least two years experience in an accounts or finance department, preferably in an account assistant or assistant management accounting role. You will need strong written and verbal communication skills and be confident in communicating with all levels of the business. Well organised but with the ability to be flexible and respond to changing deadlines and requests. You must take real pride in your work and have a strong sense of ownership. Able to work using own initiative but also be committed to supporting the wider team whenever possible. Intermediate Excel ability with experience using Pivot Tables, vlookups, data linking etc. ATTITUDE: A proactive and challenger mindset. Resilience to keep going in a fast paced environment.
