Software Engineer, Forecasting Nandos has been in the UK and Ireland since 1992 and weve grown from a single takeaway store in Ealing, London to over 500 restaurants across all locations. Originally started in Johannesburg, South Africa, we pride ourselves on creating memorable experiences for everyone involved in Nandos: from our employees, communities, founders and suppliers, but most importantly, our customers. You will be joining a tech team that has grown in the past few years and is determined to enable change within the restaurant industry by bringing innovative thinking and the latest technology tools and practices to solve some of its most complex problems. A Day in the Life of the Forecasting Team Imagine shaping the future of restaurant operations Our Forecasting Team dives into data from cutting-edge third-party machine learning partners to turn raw numbers into powerful insights. We take crunching datasales trends, product-level info, and cooking requirementsand apply smart, tailored logic to transform it into actionable forecasts that drive efficiency and success. With our Forecasting App , we deliver real-time predictions right to in-restaurant screens, empowering teams to make smarter, faster decisions. Whether its predicting what levels to cook or optimizing inventory, our forecasts keep things running smoothly. Its all about using data to create flawless operations, whether were working directly with restaurants or collaborating with Central Support teams to ensure seamless, top-tier experiences Skills You have: Proven experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer, focusing on application development and integrations Experience building applications using modern frameworks, languages and tools such as TypeScript, React and Next.js - Proven ability to build relationships with technical peers - Experience in setting up, maintaining, and querying different types of databases using SQL/NoSQL (familiarity with BigQuery and Dataform is a plus) Optimisation of data, analysis of information, and organisation of new sources of data into databases Experience with testing strategies, including unit testing, and integration testing Experience with infrastructure as code tools e.g. Terraform Proven experience in setting up release pipelines using CI/CD methodology Understanding of the importance of constructive feedback to improve code quality and team performance You are: Kind and empathetic, encouraging others to do their best work and building a psychologically-safe, happy workplace People-focused with a strong interest in mentoring and supporting junior engineers A great communicator who can tailor conversations to your audience at all levels of the business Passionate about software engineering and staying up to date with the latest technologies and trends Experienced in building and deploying web applications with a focus on scalability, maintainability and security Everyone is Welcome At Nandos, everyone is welcome.
