VMA GROUPs client who are a values-led healthcare organisation, is looking for a Head of Marketing, Communications and Engagement to lead the development and delivery of a bold, multi-stakeholder communications strategy. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is ready to play a central part in shaping how an organisation communicates during a time of transformation in the NHS. The successful candidate will bring expertise in stakeholder engagement, internal and external communications, digital strategy and team leadership. We are seeking an immediately available Head of with experience within Healthcare, who is happy to be present in the office 3 days a week min. The Opportunity This role is pivotal in driving forward a modern, inclusive approach to communications, with a strong focus on collaboration, clarity and community. As services move toward a more integrated, neighbourhood-focused model of care, the Head of Marketing, Communications and Engagement will be responsible for ensuring that messaging is aligned with system-wide change and resonates with key audiences including NHS partners, GP practices, staff and patients. The role will suit someone who can bridge strategic thinking with operational delivery, managing a small communications team while also building strong internal and external partnerships. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Brand Management Lead the development of a compelling brand and communications strategy aligned with organisational goals. Translate complex service and system developments into clear, engaging messaging for varied audiences. Act as a brand guardian, ensuring consistency across all communication channels. Promote the clients achievements and impact through storytelling, media relations, and awards submissions. Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Build and nurture strong relationships with internal teams, GP practices, NHS partners, patient groups, and the wider healthcare ecosystem. Develop and maintain a CRM and stakeholder engagement framework to support tailored communications. Plan and deliver inclusive engagement activities that promote involvement in service transformation. Oversee media relations, crisis communications, and PR activities. Collaborate with HR and leadership to ensure staff communications are timely, inclusive, and aligned with organisational values. Digital, PR & Content Strategy Oversee digital channels, including the website, intranet, and social media platforms. Ensure content is audience-centred, relevant, and high-quality across all digital and offline platforms. Drive innovation in digital communications and use analytics to improve reach and engagement. Campaigns & Programme Delivery Lead on the planning and execution of campaigns, including health awareness and social marketing initiatives. Monitor and report on campaign effectiveness using clear KPIs and evaluation frameworks. Team Leadership & Operational Oversight Manage and support a small communications team, nurturing a collaborative, high-performing culture. Provide guidance and quality control across all communication outputs. Ensure timely delivery of materials and campaigns that support strategic priorities. Monitoring & Evaluation Use insight tools and performance metrics to evaluate communications effectiveness. Report regularly to senior leaders and governance bodies on progress and risks.
