Activations and Events ManagerSalary £40k per annum (dependant on experience) plus excellent benefitsMinimum 3 years’ experience in a similar events / activations roleOffice Based - Southampton (Up to 2 days WFH after probation)Includes domestic travel and weekend workPlease include a cover letter with your applicationThis role is for a marketer with experience managing events and activations to make their mark with a leading global brand.Working with the wider UK & Ireland team and reporting into the Head of Marketing, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end project management, logistics and delivery of all activations and events, ensuring each showcases clear product and brand messages and demonstrates ‘Why Garmin?’The ideal candidate is autonomous, remains calm in high pressure environments, is extremely organised and possesses excellent interpersonal skills.Examples of current events / activations:Brand – Garmin Ride OutSponsored – Love Trails, powered by GarminTrade – Outdoor Trade ShowConsumer Expo – Go DivingRetail – Sports Shoes Podium 5kKey Duties;End-to-end management of Garmin UK and Ireland events and activations, including planning, delivery and evaluation. This includes trade and consumer expos, sponsored events, owned brand events and activations and media events and activationsCollaborate with the Segment Marketing team and other key stakeholders, ensuring all event plans and activations are aligned to segment and business goals and report on their effectivenessBe responsible for event logistics including staffing and staff briefings, accommodation, permits, branded asset production and storage etcBe the main point of contact present during events, responsible and accountable for decision making, problem solving and crisis management where requiredEnsure all events and activations meet compliance standards including heath 'safety protocols, privacy (including GDPR) and other associated regulationsPrepare and manage event and activation budgets, source suppliers and manage ongoing relationships with them to ensure the best value for GarminAct as a guardian of the Garmin brand by ensuring that all activations and events adhere to global brand guidelinesMaintain a professional knowledge of Garmin products and markets, ensuring all activity is authentic and demonstrates ‘Why Garmin?’Brief 3rd parties where necessary (expo teams, production teams, agencies, etc.)Manage and maintain stock of branded assets and event materialsBuild and maintain a professional knowledge of relevant events and activation best practicesExperience & Education;Minimum 3 years’ experience managing events and activations is essential, either from working for a major brand, agency or retailerExperience or passion for sports, fitness and tech preferred, either from working for a major brand, agency or retailer, or by displaying passion and an excellent understanding of the relevant UK and Ireland markets and industryExperience managing budgets and reporting on ROITechnical Requirements;Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust possess excellent organisation and planning skillsBe proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with an attention to detailSelf-motivated with a positive and professional approachResilient with the ability to cope under pressureDemonstrates initiative and resourcefulnessCapable of working autonomously and multitasking in a high-pressure environmentExcellent interpersonal and relationship development skillsPossess a wide degree of creativityFlexible, hands-on approach to businessExperience managing budgets and reporting on ROIMust have passion, integrity, and display positive energyMust possess the ability to keep information confidentialThe role includes weekend workThe role requires UK and Ireland travel, and a UK driving licenseHere at Garmin, we love what we do - fuelling people's passions by creating superior products for sports, outdoor recreation, marine and automotive that are an essential part of our customers’ lives.
