Location: Remote-first (UK-based) Rate: Up to 550 p/d Contract: 6 - 12 months (Outside IR35) Tech Stack: BigQuery, SQL, GCP (Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub), ETL/ELT, PythonWere working with a fast-moving team thats building high-performance data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. Theyre looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help design, implement, and optimise scalable pipelines while supporting both data and product teams with reliable, secure, and efficient systems.If you enjoy working with large-scale datasets and solving performance challenges in cloud environments, this is a great opportunity to lead with impact and collaborate across teams.What Youll Be Doing: Designing and implementing scalable data pipelines using BigQuery and other GCP tools Developing and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows for transforming and aggregating data Optimising database performance for cost-effective, efficient querying Collaborating with analysts, scientists, and engineers on analytics and product use cases Automating workflows and monitoring pipeline performance Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a strong engineering cultureWhat You Need: Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale datasets Hands-on experience with BigQuery and GCP tools like Dataflow, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub Deep knowledge of query optimisation and performance tuning Proven experience with ETL/ELT design and data modelling best practices A collaborative mindset and solid communication skills Ability to mentor and guide junior team membersThis is an outside IR35 contract, so you must be UK-based.
