Acts as the Company Secretary with regards to compliance.Job PurposeTo oversee all financial aspects of SHALs business strategy, ensure the timely flow of financial information to the CEO, the Board, colleagues and SHALs tenants and stakeholders. To maintain financial integrity to enhance our reputation and brand and align performance management and legal and regulatory compliance to support our property and customer services and new development. The Finance Director will serve as a strategic member of SHALs Senior Management Team (SMT), contributing to the overall leadership and direction of the organisation.The Finance Director will also be responsible for ensuring that all HR-related matters, including absence management, recruitment, employee conduct, and annual performance appraisals, are effectively managed in a timely and efficient manner.Key Responsibilities Lead SHALs accounting function, financial control, financial planning, stress testing, regulatory compliance, strategic and operational risk management and the development and implementation of financial policies and processes.To oversee Treasury Management, including liaison with Treasury Advisors, and provide the Board with clear, strategic advice on securing investment to support new home development in alignment with SHALs purpose, asset management strategy, strategic objectives, and risk appetite.Advise the Board on appropriate cashflow requirements and manage cashflow in accordance with SHALs funding covenants and the Boards golden rules.Lead on Value for Money, ensuring the delivery of SHALs purpose and strategic priorities in an economic, efficient, effective, equitable, and ethical manner.Prepare SHALs Financial Statements and Value for Money Report to communicate performance and ambitions to statutory stakeholders, tenants, employees, and partners.Oversee the financial aspects of asset management and new homes development to ensure projects are deliverable, sustainable, and integrated with the business plan while delivering customer and business value.Lead the options appraisal process of SHALs homes, enabling informed Board decisions on regeneration, rehabilitation, redevelopment, or disposal.Transparently and creatively communicate financial, performance, and other key information to stakeholders using diverse media to promote accountability and openness.Maintain oversight of SHALs Risk Management Framework to ensure effective management of strategic, financial, and operational risks across the organisation.Ensure the upkeep and annual Board reporting of an accurate and relevant Assets and Liabilities Register.Develop and maintain a robust organisational and business support infrastructure that empowers operational leadership, drives innovation, and aligns with SHALs mission and values.
