Dartmouth Partners have been retained by an acquisitive, PE-backed Business Services Group to support them in their search for an M&A Director.The M&A Director will play a critical role in driving their aggressive acquisition strategy. This position requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in identifying, evaluating, and executing M&A opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in deal sourcing, negotiation, due diligence, and integration processes within a private equity environment.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Planning: Develop and implement M&A strategies aligned with the companys growth objectives, identifying target sectors and companies that fit our acquisition criteria.Deal Sourcing: Proactively identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets through market research, networking, and industry analysis, building a robust pipeline of opportunities.Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial modelling and valuation analysis to determine the attractiveness and feasibility of proposed transactions.Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions of acquisitions, working closely with legal and financial advisors to ensure favourable outcomes for the company.Due Diligence: Lead comprehensive due diligence efforts, coordinating cross-functional teams to assess financial, legal, commercial, operational, people and strategic aspects of potential acquisitions.Integration Planning: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop integration plans that ensure smooth transitions and maximise synergies post-acquisition.Stakeholder Communication: Present findings, recommendations, and strategic insights to senior leadership and the board of directors, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in STEM subjects, Finance, Business Administration or a related field; Accountancy qualification, MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.5+ years of experience in M&A, investment banking, or corporate development, with a focus on private equity-backed transactions.Proven track record of successfully executing multiple acquisitions from sourcing to executionStrong financial acumen, with expertise in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and due diligence processes.Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
