Microsoft Purview Data Consultant2 Months ContractPart-Time (1-2 Days per week)Fully Remote(Outside IR35)Role Overview:We are seeking an experienced Information Protection Consultant with deep expertise in Microsoft Purview, Unstructured Data, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Insider Risk Management to join our client on a Part-Time consulting contract. The successful candidate will support two projects, advisory and delivery-focused aimed at strengthening their data governance and security posture through Microsoft technologies.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic guidance and best practice support across:Auto-labelling within Microsoft Purview and its practical implementationReview and development of DLP use cases, including sanity-checking pre-existing onesBest practices for verifying labelled data against defined use casesAdvisory support on Insider Risk Management, tailoring it to the clients contextLead a comprehensive Discovery engagement to assess and plan for a Microsoft Purview pilot implementation. Activities include:Facilitate workshops to gather requirements and define project objectives around labelling and DLPIdentify pilot users and relevant device types (incl. OS variations)Map out current file repositories and sensitive information sourcesDefine manual and automatic labelling strategies and DLP settingsEstablish Insider Risk Management objectives and criteriaDocument gaps and improvement areas within the current environmentProvide informal knowledge transfer on labelling approaches and user adoption strategiesRequired Skills and Experience:Proven experience delivering Microsoft Purview, Unstructured Data, Information Protection, or Compliance solutionsStrong knowledge of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Auto-labellingHands-on experience with Insider Risk Management within Microsoft 365Ability to facilitate workshops, capture requirements, and translate them into actionable plansExcellent client-facing and communication skillsAbility to explain complex technical concepts to business and technical stakeholdersDesirable:Microsoft Certifications in Security, Compliance, and IdentityExperience working in consultancy or partner environmentsFamiliarity with user adoption and change management best practices
