Contract Opportunity: Lead Application Packager Defence Sector | Remote (with travel) | Outside IR35Were on the lookout for a Lead Application Packager to support a critical project within the Defence industry, as part of a broader Business-as-Usual initiative and a major Obsolescence Programme.The Role:Youll be at the forefront of a Windows 11 upgrade project, responsible for assessing and transforming the current end-user application estate. This includes software managed via SCCM, manually installed apps, and applications built into base images in a VDI environment.We're also moving strategically toward Numacent for application delivery and lifecycle management, so experience in its design, build, and implementation is highly desirable.What Youll Be Doing:Design, build, test, and deploy software packages for Windows/VDI environmentsWork with tools like InstallShield, AdminStudio, WiX Toolset, or Advanced InstallerLeverage SCCM, Intune, and Numacent to streamline and automate deploymentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, sysadmins, and QAEnsure app compatibility, security compliance, and resolve configuration issuesMaintain thorough documentation and provide regular progress updatesDrive continuous improvement and automation across packaging workflowsIdeal Candidate Profile:Proven experience with application packaging and enterprise deployment toolsFamiliarity with Windows 11, VDI, and manual installation remediationStrong knowledge of Numacent or similar application virtualization technologiesComfortable working in fast-paced, highly regulated environments like DefenceExcellent problem-solving and communication skills Start Date: ASAP Location: Remote with some travel expected Contract Type: Outside IR35 Duration: Initially until end of year, with high likelihood of extension into 2026
