Senior Design Engineer (Electrical)We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join us at CPW, based at either our Birmingham City Centre, Solihull, Huntingdon, Oxford or Bristol Office. This is a permanent full-time position working 36.25 hours per week under our agile framework.About CPWWe are passionate and experienced mechanical, electrical and low-carbon engineers who enjoy bringing buildings to life in ways that are better for the world. Ultimately, our people are our power.Key responsibilities As a Senor Electrical Engineer, you will be a vital part of the team and have a high degree of autonomy. You should be a well-organised, flexible, driven, forward planner with the ability to deliver work to a high standard and to tight timescales. You should also be able to take on the ability to manage the electrical engineering aspects of other more junior members of the team assisting on projects. Key responsibilities include:Acting as Project Leader on selected projectsWorking as part of a larger team on certain projectsAttending principal meetings and making client presentations on selected projectsRaise/promote the level of technical excellence relating to electrical engineering within the teamOver time, develop the ability to become a point of contact for key clientsHelp generate repeat business through customer care of existing clientsWorking on a variety of technically challenging and interesting projects across varied sectorsBe client facing and involved in all stages of the projects from inception to completion.Working closely with others in a team environment to achieve a common goalProducing drawings and specificationsProducing calculations or guiding others to complete themYour experience & qualifications We are looking for someone with a Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (Chartered or working towards) /Candidates with HNC or HND with suitable design experience will also be considered.Minimum of 3-4 years experience of design in building services, post qualification completionExperience of Software design using - Microsoft suite of programmes, Relux/Dialux, Amtech, RevitKnowledge of British and European Standards, Building Regulations documents etc.Knowledge of HTM’s would be beneficialProfessional Membership (CIBSE, IET)A good understanding of HV/LV systemsKnowledge of integration of embedded generationAn understanding and specification of incorporating various renewable technologiesWorking knowledge of BREEAMAn appreciation of mechanical engineering to be able to cover both disciplines at meetingsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenA strong willingness to learn and a desire to develop new and existing skillsWhat we offerWe are invested in our people and offer a competitive benefit package to all our employees:Excellent growth and career opportunitiesA forward thinking, agile approach to workingCompetitive pay and enhanced sickness/maternity/paternity pay schemesGenerous Annual Leave entitlement with the opportunity to buy and sell leaveInteresting and technically challenging projectsRecruitment referral bonus schemeCycle to work schemeElectrical vehicle schemeEye care vouchersEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP)Full allowance for team building activitiesSocial and charitable giving is at the heart of CPW as a business.
