Rent and Service Charge Assistant Location: Oldham (hybrid) Salary: 30,905.53 per Annum. Job Type: 12 months FTC Responsible for ensuring that the Policy & Procedures associated with all aspects of the Rent and Service Charge Accounting functions are maintained. Assist the Rent and Service Charge Accountant and Finance Business Partner Revenue (FBPR) in the annual Rent and Service Charge budget process. Assist the Rent and Service Charge Accountant in ensuring that the companies housing systems, rental income, bad debt provision, and designated balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and any anomalies identified and rectified. Assist the Rent and Service Charge Accountant in ensuring that the Rent Accounting functions are efficiently & effectively managed to ensure that all postings reflect the true and accurate rental position of First Choice Homes Oldham. Assist the FBPR in the calculation and preparation of the annual service charge budgets, ensuring calculations and charges are compliant with best practice, and in agreement with both tenancy agreements and leases. Assist with on-going review and implementation of a robust service charge strategy, developing relevant process reviews and data integrity. In conjunction with the Finance Business Partner Revenues calculate the relevant heat tariff to be used for customers using the district heating systems. Assist and the FBPR in the analysis of monthly management accounts for designated business areas partners. So what will you be doing? In this role your responsibilities will be: Assist the Rent and Service Charge Accountant in ensuring adequate financial controls are in place including rent control account reconciliations, and relevant balance sheet entries Assist the FBPR and the Rent and Service Charge Accountant in analytical review of monthly management accounting information, as required Assist in the analytical review of service charge costs and engage with relevant business partner to ensure accuracy Assist the Rent and Service Charge Accountant in Cash book entries and reconciliations Act as the focal point for The Finance Team for the raising, and receipting, of purchase orders Assist the Finance Business Partner in the production of annual service charge statements for Tenants and leaseholders, ensuring they are produced in a timely manner With the Finance Business Partner, develop and maintain the required service charge data base to ensure that FCHO is compliant with both legal requirements, but also best practice, and ensure costs are accurately accounted for Assist the Rent and Service Charge Accountant with Weekly HFI Postings and liaise with ICT around any discrepancies Assist the Rent and Service Charge Accountant with the Rent Bank Account postings, allocating bank interest and charges relating to the Rent Bank Account and ensuring the accounting system reflects the correct transactions and balances to the bank account Resolve Queries with HB Teams in relation to payments made to us Assist in the Control of the Rent Suspense Account, by investigation and consultation with colleagues in other sections, ensuring that any items are dealt with quickly and efficiently Assist the Rent and Service Charge Accountant if the reconciliation and control of the All Pay accounts Who are we looking for?
