About Soloveiko Charity:Born from direct, high-risk humanitarian aid missions in occupied Ukraine (Bucha, Irpin), Soloveiko witnessed the devastating, often overlooked impact of conflict on animals. This is a unique ground-floor opportunity to shape a vital part of a growing organization making a tangible difference. The Opportunity:We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and proactive Volunteer Event Manager/Coordinator to build and lead our events program from the ground up. You will be instrumental in planning, executing, and evaluating fundraising and awareness events (both virtual and potentially in-person) that are crucial for generating support and funding for our mission. You will report to our Overall Volunteer Coordinator and work closely with our Communications, Fundraising, and Admin Support volunteers.What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities):Develop & Manage Event Strategy: Create and manage an annual event calendar aligned with Soloveiko's fundraising and communication goals.End-to-End Event Planning: Lead all aspects of event planning from concept and budgeting through to execution and post-event analysis.Budget Oversight: Develop and meticulously manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and tracking ROI.Logistics & Operations: Oversee all event logistics, including venue/platform sourcing, supplier management, scheduling, and risk assessment (delegating tasks effectively to Admin Support).Stakeholder Management: Liaise professionally with venues, suppliers, speakers, potential sponsors, and attendees.Team Collaboration: Work closely with our Communications team for event promotion and our Fundraising team to align with funding goals and potential sponsorships.Volunteer Coordination: Recruit (if needed) and manage event-day volunteers, providing clear direction and support (working with Admin Support).Evaluation & Reporting: Measure event success against objectives, gather feedback, and produce insightful post-event reports.Who You Are (Essential Skills & Experience):Proven Event Management Experience: Demonstrable track record of successfully planning and executing a variety of events (virtual and/or in-person) from start to finish.Exceptional Organizational & Project Management Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.Strong Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse stakeholders (team members, suppliers, attendees, potential sponsors).Budget Management Acumen: Experience creating and managing budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring financial accountability.Proactive & Self-Starting: Ability to take initiative, work independently, problem-solve, and drive projects forward in a start-up environment.Passion for Soloveiko's Mission: A genuine interest in animal welfare and supporting those affected by conflict.Desirable (Bonus Points):Experience working or volunteering within the charity/non-profit sector.Experience managing volunteers.Proficiency with event management software, ticketing platforms (e.g., Eventbrite), or CRM systems.What We Offer (The Volunteer Experience):Make a Tangible Impact: Directly contribute to protecting vulnerable animals in critical need.Shape Our Future: Play a key role in building the events function for a passionate, growing charity.Collaborative Team: Join a dedicated and skilled team of volunteers working towards a common goal.Flexibility: A remote role with flexible hours to fit around your existing commitments.Develop Your Skills: Gain further experience in charity event management and leadership.Time Commitment:Approximately 5-10 hours per week (flexible, but requires responsiveness around key event dates).Location:Fully remote.
