Job Description

Our client is a well renowned name in the fashion industry, having successfully carved their share in the contemporary market. They have successfully established a global customer following with their signature style. They ae looking for a Head of Product for a 12M FTC starting in June. Reporting directly to the Senior Directors in the business, this role would oversee the end to end product cycle, managing the design, product and wholesale teams, whilst taking the lead with the range building and collection development and the core merchandising functions. This role will be critical in forecasting and managing stock levels, markdowns, and option planning to ensure continued growth and to drive profit, whilst being commercial and innovative, effectively leading a team.Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Work closely with the sales and design team to understand the market trends and also customer feedback each season to manage and build the seasonal product assortment, ensuring it is kept commercial Owning and managing the product pricing structure, including owning the costings process across all categories, working closely with the product teams to ensure target margins are achieved, approving all costingsAlways seeking new avenues for improving margins, whilst ensuring the brands standards are not compromisedInventory management, stock and sell through management through effective reporting and working closely with the logistics and warehouse teams. Analysing, planning and forecasting, looking at sales performance, optimising on key performers and putting forth action plans to minimise risk on worst sellers, highlighting any potential issues whilst also seeking capitalising on repeat orders and carryoversOur client is looking for someone who:A strong background and experience of working within a Fashion business with a background in product and merchandising management.Exceptional planning and analytical skills, coupled with the drive to exceed expectations and be a natural strategic thinker.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel Excellent communication skills, being able to effectively communicate across the business.You will have a diligent and well organised work ethic, be a self-starter and motivated as well as excellent problem-solving skills. Have a hand on and flexible approach to your work and the business, be a key team player and adapt as required within a dynamic environment.Have a positive can-do attitude, be decisive with a strong commercial awareness.Exceptional leadership skills, taking ownership of the process and be confident within a collaborative, hands on approachPlease note, we require this role to start in early June.
