Job Description Logistics and Warehouse Manager Corby Who are we?Daily Dose is the largest cold pressed juice manufacturer in the UK. We produce all our drinks in-house at our Corby factory, after beginning life in our founder's mum's kitchen! At Daily Dose, we produce the finest cold pressed juice made from wonky fruit and veg which would otherwise be thrown away. We focus on sustainability; working with local farmers, turning our organic waste into Biofuels, and only using bottles made from recycled materials. Whats the opportunity? The Logistics and Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the logistics and warehouse operations, including vehicle and driver compliance, storage and inventory management, and the coordination of intakes and dispatches. This role requires effective collaboration with planning, manufacturing, and other departments to ensure seamless receiving, storage, transfer, and dispatch processes. The Logistics and Warehouse Manager must also ensure that all operations align with the companys medium- to long-term goals and objectives while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.What will the role involve?Logistics ComplianceLead compliance and safety, ensuring all transport activities meet legal and company standards.Manage the day-to-day operations of the transport department, including: route planning, vehicle scheduling, delivery booking and driver management.Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, MOTs. servicing and defect resolving.Monitor and improve transport performance metrics cost to deliver, safety and service levels.Maintain accurate records, including tachograph data, driver hours, fuel/AdBlue usage and maintenance logs.Warehouse Utilisation and SafetyMaximise the effective use of warehouse space to optimise operations.Oversee and ensure proper procedures for loading, unloading, stocking, and securing items.Maintain the quality of stored goods to prevent product damage and minimise waste.Enforce health and safety protocols to eliminate hazards and ensure a safe working environment.Inventory Management and FIFO ImplementationImplement and strictly monitor FIFO (First-In-First-Out) processes for both raw materials and finished goods to ensure inventory freshness and minimise waste.Regularly assess stock levels and adjust practices to prevent overstocking or shortages.Coordination with PurchasingCollaborate closely with the purchasing department to schedule and manage incoming deliveries of raw materials and other supplies.Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.Collaboration with ProductionWork in tandem with the production team to ensure the timely transfer and dispatch of finished goods to meet operational demands and customer requirements.Customer Service ExcellenceAddress and resolve any customer-related issues concerning product preparation or delivery before dispatch.Maintain a customer-focused approach to meet and exceed service expectations.Stock Levels and ForecastingPartner with the commercial team to establish and maintain minimum and maximum stock levels for finished goods, aligned with sales forecasts and demand planning.Ensure the warehouse is prepared to support peak and off-peak periods efficiently.Inventory Accuracy and Cycle CountsEnsure routine cycle counts and reconcile inventory records against system data is completed to ensure accuracy.Follow established guidelines for inventory auditing and address discrepancies promptly.Inventory Variance AnalysisAnalyse inventory variances to identify trends or potential issues.Develop and implement preventive measures to reduce errors and improve accuracy.Leadership and Team DevelopmentProvide strong leadership, training, and coaching to warehouse staff to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability among team members.Clearly define roles and responsibilities, and support staff development to enhance productivity and efficiency.Warehouse Organisation and CleanlinessMaintain a clean, organised, and well-structured warehouse environment at all times.Ensure that all areas meet health and safety standards and are audit-ready.Verification of Deliveries and DispatchesOversee and verify the accuracy of all incoming and outgoing deliveries, ensuring all shipments meet quality and compliance requirements.Training and DirectionTrain, guide, and supervise the warehouse team to promote a culture of safety, quality, and productivity.Provide ongoing feedback and performance evaluations to support team growth and improvement.Product Quality ControlIsolate and report any product that does not meet Daily Doses quality standards or poses potential food safety hazards.Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement corrective actions.Health and Safety ComplianceEnsure full compliance with all health and safety regulations, including conducting regular risk assessments and audits within the warehouse.Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to reduce workplace incidents and ensure a safe environment for all employees.Provide training and education to warehouse staff on safe working practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of equipment.Investigate and document any accidents, near misses, or safety concerns, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.What skills, experience and traits do I need?At least 3 years strong experience in managing operations within a transport/warehouse environment.Expertise in fleet and driver management, inventory management, stock control, and warehouse operations.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other relevant systems.Strong leadership and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across departments.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and quality compliance requirements.
