We're on a mission to give our colleagues an amazing work/life balance!Job Title: Designated Safeguarding LeadSalary:Up to 32,000.00 per annumLocation: New Barn School, Newbury, BerkshireHours: 40 hours per week, Monday to FridayContract: Permanent, Term Time OnlyUK applicants only.As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our close-knit team at New Barn School, part of Acorn EducationThe successful applicant will take lead responsibility for safeguarding and pupil protection for the school. They will take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings and contribute to the assessment of pupils.They will advise and support other members of staff on pupil welfare and pupil protection matters and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police.Some safeguarding activities may be delegated to deputies, although you will retain lead responsibility for the work of deputies and will ensure it is completed to the highest standard.Duties and responsibilities:Refer cases of suspected abuse to the local authority pupils social careSupport staff who make referrals to local authority pupils social careRefer cases to the Channel programme where there is a radicalisation concernSupport staff who make referrals to the Channel programmeEssential:Experience in a Safeguarding role in education.Full UK Driving LicenceAbout The SchoolNew Barn School offers a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum to boys and girls, aged 6 19 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health complexities.New Barn School takes full advantage of its beautiful settings and fosters a love for using the outdoor curriculum including forest school, farm experiences and horse riding.
