You'll play a key role in shaping the company's safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, and leading initiatives that improve workplace safety and environmental practices at all levels.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the Groups Health, Safety & Environmental strategy, ensuring full compliance with relevant UK legislation and industry standards.Manage and maintain ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 accreditations.Oversee risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.Conduct audits, site visits, behavioural safety discussions and toolbox talks to support best practices across operations.Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, producing detailed reports and action plans.Act as CDM Coordinator for notifiable projects, preparing Construction Phase Plans, F10 applications, and H&S files as required.Provide internal HSE training, including IOSH courses, and support ongoing staff development.Mentor apprentices and help manage the organisations safety training pipeline.Communicate regularly with senior management through reports and presentations on HSE performance and regulatory updates.What Were Looking ForProven experience in a senior HSE role, ideally within construction, infrastructure or engineering environments.NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate or equivalent (essential); IOSH membership preferred.Deep understanding of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.Practical knowledge of CDM Regulations and safety file documentation.Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills across all levels.Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-focused approach to HSE management.Whats on OfferA senior leadership role with genuine influence and autonomy.A progressive and supportive company culture focused on continuous improvement.The chance to drive meaningful change across a group of diverse and high-impact projects.Long-term career development opportunities.
