Job Description:An industrial facility is seeking a laboratory technician to establish and maintain an ISO 9001 compliant laboratory testing facility, providing support to the Shift Chemist and Technical Manager.You will ensure all quality related documents are written and adhered to on site and any necessary testing equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.Key Responsibilities:Perform quality control testing on final products in collaboration with technical staff.Conduct raw material qualification tests alongside the shift chemist.Oversee maintenance and calibration of laboratory and monitoring equipment.Prepare chemical reagents and standards for testing procedures.Execute environmental testing in compliance with regulatory requirements.Maintain precise records of lab procedures and results in line with applicable regulations.Assist in process troubleshooting with the operations team.Communicate testing outcomes and project developments to internal stakeholders.Manage lab consumables and uphold high housekeeping standards.Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.Perform other duties as required to support lab and site operations.Skills & Knowledge Required:Degree-level education (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a related scientific field.Proficient in laboratory practices, terminology, and equipment.Experience using HPLC for analytical purposes.Competence in chemical analysis and related calculations.Familiarity with sampling procedures and compliance standards.Strong analytical, reporting, and IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.Personal Attributes:Strong communication skills (written and verbal).Ability to operate effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Independent working style with sound judgment and initiative.Collaborative mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.High attention to detail and strong decision-making abilities.Work Environment:Laboratory located within an industrial setting.Role involves handling hazardous substances.Use of computers and lab instrumentation daily.Experience:Minimum of 2 years experience in a chemical or physical lab testing environment.
