If you would like to work in a diverse environment and enjoy the freedom to implement your own ideas, then you've come to the right place.We are currently looking for a Forklift & Material Handling Service Engineer to support our forklift trucks and large material handling products, including port machinery. In this role, you will be responsible for on-site and depot-based maintenance and repair work, supported by a skilled and engaged service team.Job Location: Yard 9, Lambourn Business Park, RG17 7RY or Hybrid.Your tasks:Diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components, including hydraulic valves and ramsPerforming engine, final drive, and gearbox repairs on diesel and electric-powered forklifts and port machineryInspecting equipment, identifying faults, and working with the Service Manager to provide customers with accurate repair quotationsCarrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on a wide range of equipmentIdentifying and documenting chargeable repairs that require customer approval before proceedingCompleting partial or full strip-downs of machinery as required for thorough diagnostics or major repairsUsing appropriate tools (meters, hydrometers) to test traction battery voltages and specific gravity, and conducting battery condition surveysHandling job reporting, time entry, part identification, and service documentation via a tablet-based systemCoordinating with the Service Manager and Parts Manager to ensure efficient service delivery and parts logisticsDelivering a professional and customer-focused service, aimed at building long-term relationships and trust with clientsYour profile:Proven experience in a similar service or maintenance role, ideally with forklift trucks, or alternatively with plant equipment, agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles, or HGVsSolid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and their practical applicationsA Level 3 City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent BTEC qualification in electrical or mechanical engineeringA customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality serviceA valid full UK drivers licence, with a willingness to travel to customer sites as requiredWe offer:Competitive salary and benefits; Training and personal development;Work in a dynamic, collaborative and international environment;Personal and professional development opportunities and ongoing on-the-job training;A culture with flat hierarchies, simple communication and plenty of room for your ideas;A chance to work directly with a manufacturer, and grow together with its new subsidiary from scratch;Contact:We look forward to receiving your complete application at hr@xcmguk.comYou can find out more about us on our UK website www.xcmguk.com
