BACKGROUND:Working for the Environment and Planning team, which includes the Ecology Team, providing a wide rangeof environmental support to engineering and construction colleagues to facilitate thedelivery of our capital programme.You will deliver a range of services including ecological survey, ecological impactassessment, and protected species work, through to mitigation and construction support. Theecology team support a diverse range of projects and enjoy the satisfaction of working on theprojects from outline design through to completion. JOB ROLE:To undertake ecological assessments of capital programme schemes. Toprovide ecological advice to engineering, construction and operational staff to ensure that WWmeets current legislation and company environmental policy in the development of assets. REQUIREMENTS: Competent in UKHab and protected species appraisal surveys. Experience of working with key groups of protected species (great crested newts,badgers, bats, reptiles, water voles etc.) Great Crested Newt survey licence preferable Good ecological report writing skills Experience of working on construction sites Clean driving licence and access to own transport essential 3 years+ relevant experience preferable A pro-active and flexible approach with a focus on successful project delivery Good IT skills and experience of GIS systemsYou must be able to demonstrate proof of skills gained and eligibility to work in the UK.
