We're currently supporting a client within the construction industry (one-stop provider) to hire an Estimator within their growing team in CardiffFocused on delivering profitable, de-risked, winning bids on time and to the highest quality. While also providing estimating services on projects and strategic & contract changes.Day to DayLeading on tenders, process and resources with a high degree of commercial acumen and skillIdentify opportunities to add value and to mitigate against risks / consider solutions throughout the project processEnsure monitoring of the tender process is in place for all tenders and report on progress via estimating planLead the pricing process and promote integration of disciplines through accurate reporting and regular internal communication and feedback on relevant tendersTo lead the supply chain enquiry processTo attend pre-tender and post tender interviews with both internal management and clients and attend internal adjudication and tender progress meetingsProactively maintain the cost base by assisting with latest quotations, framework rates controlling costs, timing and quality in line with specified targetsWorking collaboratively and communicating effectively with other areas of the Logistics Department to provide exceptional supportCo-operate on matters of health and safetyQualifications/ExperienceA degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Construction or EngineeringMinimum 5 years experience working as a Junior Estimator or gaining industry knowledge in a relevant fieldSkillsCommercial awareness and a strong understanding / have a willingness to learn all elements of the construction processMethodical, analytical and organised with an attention to detailExcellent communication skills both written and verbalAbility to work well under pressureAble to undertake measurement exercises, including formulating Bills of Quantities.SalaryDependent on experience between 40,000 - 60,000 + Package
