Job overviewWe have a great opportunity for a responsible and enthusiastic individual to join our team of Data Quality Team as a Ward Clerk Team Leader. This is aFull Timewhere the candidate will work across different inpatient wards providing a focused administration service within the Clinical Administration Inpatients department at thePrincess Royal Hospital . We are looking to recruit a flexible, dynamic and motivated Team Leader for our fast paced and friendly Information Quality Team to help ensure adequate coverage of duties across a defined group of wards and departments, 7 days a week from 0800-2300. You will work with the other Team Leaders, ensuring the efficient and timely admission, transfer and discharge of patients, dealing with patients’ medical notes and being responsible for the accurate and timely input of information into our PAS system for the purposes of patient care and data quality. Main duties of the jobAs the Team Leader managing and supporting a collective group of Ward Clerks and Data Administrators providing a thorough, supportive and balanced management to the Data Administrators and Ward Clerks, including working mainly with PAS System Careflow and Symphony when in an ED environment. Other tools include Outlook, Excel, Word, Spine Portal, Bloodhound or Panda. Previous experience on our systems is not required as training will be provided, however computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must. Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesYou will be required to work in close contact with patients, relatives and a multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors, physiotherapists or pharmacists amongst other professionals. You will be one of the first faces our patients and relatives will see when they first walk into our hospital, and you will have to deal with queries face-to-face, on the phone and via email. For this reason the post holder will have excellent communication and spelling skills alongside the ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure. To advise, support and manage a team of ward clerks on a daily basis ensuring adequate coverage of duties across a defined group of wards, ensuring workloads are evenly distributed and that all completed patient activity is accurately updated with relevant information.
