Lead Sonographer with expertise in Gynaecology and Obstetric Imaging Location: Harley Street Ultrasound Group, 99 Harley Street, W1G 6AQ Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week Salary: 67k - 80k dependent on managerial experience. Contract: Permanent Clinic Hours: Our opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 8 pm; Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm. The candidate may be required to work one Saturday a month. Located in the prestigious Harley Street Medical District, we offer excellent patient-focused care with modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment including a GE Voluson E10 and a few Samsung Prestige S85 machines. Our doctors and sonographers are all experts in their specialist field with a minimum of 5 years experience. Role Overview We are seeking a Lead Sonographer with expertise in Gynaecology and Obstetric imaging that has managerial experience. The successful candidate will be a confident leader in our clinic and deliver exceptional ultrasound imaging services. You will work under the delegated authority of the Directors, ensuring the delivery of safe and efficient patient care. This role involves both clinical and operational responsibilities, ensuring activities align with clinic policies, professional standards, and regulations. Key Responsibilities As Lead Sonographer, you will perform high-quality obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound examinations, ensuring accuracy and quality assurance. You will provide clinical leadership to the sonographer team, overseeing scanning protocols and maintaining quality control. Ensuring appropriate accreditation for sonographers and implementing continuous quality improvement measures will also be part of your responsibilities. You will manage daily clinic operations, coordinate with radiology assistants and administrative staff for smooth workflow, and develop and implement clinic policies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Additionally, you will schedule staff shifts, manage absences to ensure adequate coverage, and foster a supportive and collaborative work environment. You will also maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines including CQC and HSE standards. You will be expected to support the CQC registered manager in maintaining or exceeding the clinic's current CQC rating and providing regular operational updates to the Directors. Financial responsibilities include overseeing clinic budgets, monitoring expenditures, and managing supply procurement. Addressing patient inquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally is expected, along with participating in cross-site cover when required. Collaborating with external healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely reporting is essential. Qualifications and Skills You should have certification by the FMF, Society of Radiographers, and Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC), with advanced certification preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare management is required, along with strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare regulations and quality standards, including CQC requirements, is essential. Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively with a commitment to exceptional patient care are also necessary.
