About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Operative to join our team in our Crumb Plant at our Kerry Site in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.Ensure you read the information regarding this opportunity thoroughly before making an application.It is a full-time, permanent position with rotating shift pattern on continental shifts of 2 days / 2nights / 12 hour rolling shifts over a 7 day rotationReporting to the Line Leader, your role will be to continually develop your production area to support the delivery of the site plan.The Gainsborough site consists of 5 integrated plants with around 110 employees, where we produce variety of products, like flours, batters, and ingredients of meat-free food. Its history dates to 1963, when the first Flour Milling Plant was established. It became part of a Kerry Family in 1997 and went through significant investments and improvements. The Gainsborough site is based close to Gainsborough Lea Road train station (13 minutes by walk) and has onsite parking and canteen.What will I be doing?You will be responsible for working as part of a team on rotational shifts on varying production lines, to ensure your designated area delivers against its KPIs.The role is a self-cover system whereby only one operative can be on annual leave at any one time.Your responsibilities as Plant Operative - will include:Taking care of a production areaDelivering production plan through team work on shiftsAdhering to Food Manufacturing Safety & Quality StandardsSupporting implementation of Lean Manufacturing TechniquesBeing responsible for equipment efficiencies, waste, and materialsCo-creating with other team members a factory environment where individuals feel able to continually challenge the status quo, embrace change and make decisions to improve performance.What do I need to be successful?Experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally within FMCGExperience of working within large teamsBasic IT skills covering Excel, Word and OutlookGood understanding and interpretation of dataGeneral education in maths and good communication skillsSAP knowledge (desirable)FLT licence (desireable)Why Join Us?In Kerry we benefit from the knowledge of our colleagues who bring a diverse range of cultures, backgrounds, lifestyles and experiences.
