The role is based in a school for autistic children aged 4-19 years old that has been graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. You will be provided with access to a wide range of funded training and qualification opportunities in SEN education whilst gaining a breadth of experience with children of varying ages and abilities. The school uses behaviour driven teaching strategies and interventions to encourage positive outcomes and student development. You will work within small classes individually and in groups, you will design, plan and deliver teaching sessions to encourage pupils learning and progression as well as improve their social and emotional development.Summary: Aspiring SEN Teacher - Autism - Education and Training - GuildfordAspiring SEN Teacher - Classroom support Assistant - GuildfordPermanent contractSalary: 21,000 - 23,000 (actual salary based on 39 working weeks)35 hours per week - Monday-Friday 9am-4.30pm (5.30pm on Tuesdays for additional training)Part time options are considered but you must work on Tuesday due to trainingStart in April 25 or sooner depending on your availabilityMain Responsibilities:Provide teaching and support to our pupils, following individualised curriculumsPlan, prepare and deliver lessons and activities, focusing largely on life skillsSupport pupils' participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practiceProvide behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that impact quality of lifeProvide personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding)Monitor pupil progress, ensuring teaching is appropriate and effective for each child's needs Application Requirements: Aspiring SEN Teacher - Autism - GuildfordProfessional, personal or voluntary experience of working with children and disabilitiesA Psychology degree is highly desirable but not essentialMinimum Grade C/4 GCSE in English Language & Maths or equivalentComfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviourComfortable supporting others with personal/intimate care where requiredAbility to keep calm in high pressure situationsApply directly through this advert or call Ben Mason on 01483 362393 for more detailsJBRP1_UKTJ
