Procurement Engineer – EssexWe are seeking a Buyer to support procurement in a high-tech manufacturing environment. This role involves sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery to meet project and production requirements.Key Responsibilities:Raise and manage purchase orders with production and engineering teamsSource and procure materials, components, and services cost-effectivelyNegotiate prices, contracts, and terms with suppliersBuild and maintain strong supplier relationshipsMonitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and inventory levelsAlign procurement activities with internal business needsMaintain accurate records of purchases and supplier agreementsIdentify and onboard new suppliers to strengthen sourcing strategiesSupport supplier audits and ensure quality complianceUse ERP/MRP systems to manage procurement and inventory dataRequirements:Experience in procurement or supply chain within manufacturing/engineeringStrong negotiation and supplier management skillsFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP)Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Knowledge of procurement best practices and cost-saving strategiesWillingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits
