Overview of the Role: As a Quality Technician you will be an integral member of the team with requirements to work across multiple sites, you will be responsible for maintaining all day-to-day activities independently whilst proactively promoting continuous improvement. Reporting directly to the Quality Engineer the Quality Technician is responsible for the following: Completion of product inspections inline with internal and external requirements; covering goods-in, final inspection, new parts, internal and external non-conformances, and containments. Verifying product conformance with the operation and application of various traditional inspection equipment, utilizing different inspection methods and techniques Using engineering drawings perform technical inspections for new / prototype parts through our NPI system; Producing documentation (ISIR / F&F / PPAP) for relevant stakeholders Completion of daily process audits and random process inspections, challenging process failures and/or weaknesses, organise and contribute to the resolution of identified failures. Provide technical support to production in order to maintain production, customer requirements and standards Resolve internal, supplier and customer non-conformances by methodologically investigating the manufacturing process to determine the root cause, through application of investigation & improvement methods such as 4M’s, 5 whys, cause and effect diagrams. Produce 8D reports and issue to relevant stakeholders Manage problems utilizing existing logs and registers ensuring they are closed out to the required standard and within set time timescales. Support in the management of the calibration system, including internal calibration of inspection equipment, and the organisation of external calibration. Assisting in customer interaction through meetings, presentations, phone calls, emails Provide clear and professional internal communication of issues through the generation of reports, mails, attending of meetings, chairing Quality circles, briefings, and presentations. Design and develop process controls such as pins / jigs / template / check sheets / SOP’s / working instructions. Contribute to continuous improvement activities utilizing mythologies such as; TQM, Kaizen, 5s, 6 Sigma.Assist in maintaining Quality Management System to accreditation ISO9001 & 45001 by performing internal audits and process improvements Proactively manage workloads that could be presented through various channels such as peers, colleagues, customers, suppliers, ensuring these are closed within set deadlines. Liaise and communicate with other departments and ensure an effective interface is maintained Support the completion of Health and Safety activities assigned to the department Provide peer training support where training needs may be identified by yourself or Quality Engineer Any ad-hoc duties as required from time to time by the Quality Engineer
