JMC Aviation is working with a Maintenance Repair Organisation based in Birmingham, looking to recruit a new Workshop Manager to join their team.This client is a leading MRO dealing with base maintenance as well as interior modifications, fuel systems repair and maintenance for both commercial and military aircraft. The company has been operating for close to 30 years, providing outstanding customer service and encouraging a warm, positive environment to aid employee progression.This is a Permanent Position based in Birmingham, UK.Monday to Friday, working 40 hours per week.Salary and BenefitsCompetitive salary25 days annual leave entitlement + bank holidays4x Life assuranceEmployer pension contribution/salary sacrifice pension schemeEmployee assistance programmeSick payService awards from 2 yearsThe RoleThe primary purpose of this role is to report to the VP Military Operations and maintain the Part 145 ‘C’ rating Capability Listing on the MOE to ensure the commensurate ability to service and repair those components. You will be responsible for overseeing all operations within the MRP Part 145 workshops including leading a team of Technicians, ensuring efficient workflows, maintaining quality control, managing inventory, adhering to safety protocols and delivering projects on time while meeting customer expectations. Other duties involveMaintaining the workshops facility and allocating resources to carry out all component maintenanceBeing the Nominated Post Holder for workshops and ensuring that all workshop activities performed is compliant with MRP Part 145 requirementsEnsuring any work for internal workshops is correctly detailed in a work order/contract and that the requirements of the contract/work order are fulfilledAvailability of facilities appropriate to the planned work including workshops, office accommodation and stores, as applicable for the work plannedManaging of workshop facilities in line with company processes and proceduresMonitoring output and performance of workshops and continual looking for improvement/efficiencies, including continuation training to maintain competencies and effectivenessProvision of workshop metrics/reports as identified by the businessMaintaining MAA Part 145 compliance and perceiving opportunities to further optimise the businessProviding guidance and training to the current teams in the various workshops to ensure continuous improvementEnsuring all workshop staff keep the working environment clean and tidyIn order to be successful in this role the Workshop Manager will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributesPrevious experience of aviation workshop management, to include the control of aerospace componentsAbility to pass MAA Nominated Post Holder interviewUnderstanding of KPI’s metrics and their developmentCompleted an engineering apprenticeship, ideally in aeronautical engineering or military equivalentUnderstanding of workshop equipment, machinery and toolingKnowledge of MS Office applicationsRight to live and work in the UKSubject to UK security vettingIf you think this is the role for you and you have the necessary skills and attributes, please apply today or contact JMC Aviation for more details.Please note that due to the high level of applicants we will only be contacting shortlisted candidates regarding this role.For this opportunity JMC Aviation Ltd is acting as an employment agency.
