JOB OVERVIEW:Guinness World Records are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Tester to join our agile development team to enhance and test their internal bespoke platforms and 3rd party platform integrations.This role is ideal for someone passionate about software testing and ensuring high-quality digital products. You will work closely with our analysts, developers and other GWR stakeholders to identify and report software defects, verify functionality, and contribute to the overall improvement of our IT solutions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCreate and execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyse results.Manage IT support tickets by recreating issues, asking the relevant questions and troubleshooting if the errors need to be escalated for a technical, user permissions or configuration change.Must develop a basic understanding of the underlying technology, architecture and platforms of the products you are testingDocument and track defects using issue tracking tools, keeping users up to date and making sure prioritised issues are on the sprint lists.Collaborate with developers to make sure fixes and new code is properly implemented.Assist in creating and maintaining test plans, test scripts, and test cases.Conduct regression, functional, and usability testing as well as health checks after all code releases.Participate in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies.Provide feedback on software usability and overall user experience.Assist in preparing test reports and documentation for stakeholders.JOB REQUIREMENTS & SKILLSEssential:This role has direct customer engagement, so the candidate needs to have a positive, customer-friendly nature and the ability to deal face to face with customers.Tangible experience in a Junior Tester roleExcellent communication skills and attention to detailKnowledge of automated testing toolsWorking in an Agile development teamWriting and executing test casesExperience dealing with public facing websites and applicationsAble to problem solve and understand where issues should be escalatedDesirableExperience working with teams in multiple time zonesImplementation of automated testingExperience working with developersKnowledge of basic code like HTML and JavaScriptExperience with SalesforceAble to work in a dynamic, fast changing environmentTime managementAble to work with staff from all levels of the businessAble to show initiativeKEY RELATIONSHIPS:Director of Digital Technology and ITBusiness Analyst / testerIT Development Team and Support teamAll members of staff across the globeLIFE AT GWR:A flat & transparent structure with a values-driven & collaborative culture.Flexible / hybrid-working policies.25 holiday allowance.30% Staff discount on GWR-branded merchandise.Enhanced family leave policy.Seasonal Friday Hours - a 1pm finish in the summer or a 4pm finish in the winter.Open plan and central London office in Tottenham Court Road, with a snack station and a chance to socialise with colleagues following the monthly Townhalls.Meet Record Holders - each office regularly arranges virtual and in-person opportunities for us to connect with each other and to hear inspiring stories direct from our amazing record holders.Regular team socials including our summer and winter parties!Annual Staff awards & volunteer days.Want to find out more about what we can offer you?
