OVERVIEWThe purpose of the role is to provide planning advice and manage all aspects of planning projects to support the overall objectives of the business.Reporting to Senior Area Planning Director / Planning & Operations DirectorThis role will be covering primarily the easter half of the central patch. RESPONSIBILITIESNote: there may be a requirement from time to time to undertake other duties and perform other rolesProvide planning advice;Assist other members of the planning team;Undertake planning reviews of new sites;Lead planning projects;Prepare site promotion strategies;Prepare and agree project programmes and budgets;Instruct and manage external professional teams; Coordinate, collate and submit planning representations and applications;Chair regular planning and project review meetings;Negotiate commercially viable planning consents and S106 agreements;Proactively work on business development and site finding exercises;Communicate relevant planning / policy news, intelligence and developments. ROLE REQUIREMENTSExperience – Prior planning role, either with a planning consultancy, land promoter, housebuilder or developer - ideally with experience in residential development / strategic land promotion.Skills – Project management, people / team management, negotiation, strategy formation, commerciality.Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree and / or MRTPI (or equivalent) professional accreditation.
