Our client is a leader in drivetrain technologies, serving industries such as oil and gas, energy, mining and mechanical engineering, ship technology, rail, and commercial vehicles. Currently seeking a Transmission Design Engineer to join their established team.The RoleResponsible for creating and revising manufacturing drawings, ensuring compliance with BS 8888 standardsManage the CAD system and maintain technical product records, manuals, and descriptionsLiaise with workshop staff to address technical queries and provide necessary supportAssess and respond to customer technical requests while performing design changes as neededUpdate drawings to align with current manufacturing processes and standardsCollaborate with Sales Managers and support sales administration staffCommunicate effectively with customers both in the UK and internationallySupport Field Service Engineers on products manufactured or overhauled by the organisationTake ownership of Transmission-related technical Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)Visit suppliers to assist and support their in-house manufacturing processesCollaborate with Purchasing and Quality departments to approve and qualify new suppliersThe CandidateMinimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing and design functionsMechanical engineering qualification at a minimum HND levelProficiency in AutoCAD, Siemens NX, or similar CAD packagesSolid understanding of engineering change and document controlFamiliarity with BS 8888 technical product documentation and specificationsHands-on, flexible, positive, and proactive attitude crucial for supporting junior engineersIndustry knowledge, including an understanding of the non-ferrous metal casting process and power transmissions/rotating equipmentThe PackageOffering up to £60k plus bonus, private medical dental and other benefits.
