Job overviewWe are seeking exceptional candidates that share our vision for excellence to work with us here at Moorfields Private. Moorfields Private comprises of the Moorfields Private Outpatient Centre, the Refractive Laser Department, Cumberlege Wing and Theatres. As we start to build on exciting new models of care, we are seeking applications to Senior roles supporting our existing team in Moorfields Private Outpatient Centre. Do you have experience performing diagnostic tests on a range of ophthalmic devices in an Ophthalmology environment? Do you have knowledge and understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology of the eye and the ability to demonstrate Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Retinal fundus imaging systems? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our dedicated team of skilled Ophthalmic Vision Science Practitioners (OVSP). Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant will have the opportunity to use their initiative and excellent interpersonal skills as well as their range of established technical skills. The post holder will be required to carry out a range of investigatory procedures such as visual fields, ophthalmic imaging, biometry and other diagnostic tests for patients with many different eye conditions. You will also be expected to support patients and their relatives as required, as well as assisting in clinics in a coordinator role troubleshooting and working with administration/clerical staff to ensure the smooth running of clinics. You will undertake other clinical activities as needed, these will include phlebotomy and assisting with intra-vitreal injections. You will need to have a caring and compassionate nature, display excellent customer service skills, as well as be able to work independently and safely, following all standard operating procedures. You will receive a full induction, training and competency package on commencement. Applicants will be required to complete a competency assessment at interview.
