They will work as part of a team to ensure all legal and curriculum requirements are met in line with Inspire Montessori Schools policies and procedures. Good communication skills are imperative, involving listening, questioning, and understanding and responding to what is being communicated by children and those caring for them. As part of a team, they will be expected to have a clear understanding of their role and the roles of other team members. They will share information with other staff in a timely manner and work together to ensure the safety and well-being of all children within the nursery. A good knowledge of child development is essential to ensure that all the children’s individual needs are fully met. They will be involved in planning activities to create and develop a stimulating environment to provide high-quality childcare while maintaining a professional and positive outcome for both children and staff. Undertaking training in Health and Safety as necessary, both on appointment and as required in line with legislative changes. Following codes of safe working practices for both children and staff and complying with the Inspire Montessori Schools Health and Safety Policy. Reporting any concerns in relation to the wellbeing and safeguarding of children and staff as outlined in the company’s policies and procedures and also set by the Local Authority. Coordinating and carrying out the planning and prioritizing of activities and progress in the room to create and develop a stimulating environment following Montessori principles. Ensuring full awareness of responsibilities in line with all company policies and procedures and legislative requirements. Ensuring that the room complies with all aspects of various internal company audits and that any action points are addressed. Delivering a high level of quality childcare while maintaining a professional and positive outcome for both children and staff. Communicating with their line manager regarding activities and progress within the room and demonstrating a commitment to continued professional development for themselves and others. Attending and participating in staff meetings & training. Being assigned as the key person for a designated number of children to ensure that all their basic and developmental needs are met. Being responsible for ensuring that all children within their room are safe and secure. Building effective relationships with all parents within the room. Taking sufficient care of all visitors, staff, and parents to comply with legal requirements. Implementing, coordinating, and supervising suitable activities to create and develop a stimulating environment. Assisting with the resolution of issues/queries/complaints within the room to a satisfactory conclusion. Undertaking other duties within the scope of the post as requested by the line manager. Attendance is above 80% for regularity for the children. Wembley Park Montessori is recruiting for an experienced Baby Unit Manager to join their busy, yet warm and friendly nursery of 36 places. This role is full-time, working 40 hours per week– working a variety of shifts between the hours of 8am-6pm offering at least one half day per week. Salary - £24,960 - £30,000 per annum dependent on experience. Keeping up to date and informed of legislation in relation to early education and ensuring that all paperwork is in keeping with the EYFS and Ofsted Requirements. Becoming familiar with the nursery's policies and procedures and working within these. Sharing creative ideas and willingly involving your team in decision-making for the classroom. Delegating tasks to your team to ensure efficiency. Forming professional and friendly partnerships with parents and secure relationships with the children. What we would ask from you: A minimum of Level 3 in Childcare or Montessori Diploma is essential. Previous experience of leading a Room in a nursery setting with children under the age of 5 is essential. Previous experience of working in a Montessori setting is desired but not essential. Being a positive role model to your team. An extensive knowledge of the current EYFS. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. To be passionate, motivated, have the ability to work well within a team and be able to adapt to a fun and inspiring way of working. Good ICT skills.
