Job Description / Person SpecificationSalary: £42,708 - £47,754 per annum Type of vacancy: Permanent Work pattern: Full Time Hours per week:37 Work Base:Thoresby House, Ollerton, NG22 9FF Working Arrangements:Hybrid Competency Framework:Tier 6 Number of posts:1 Interview date:Week commencing 22/04/2025 Closing Date:16 April 2025 23:55 Our family support and safeguarding teams are multi-disciplinary teams with workers from Women’s Aid and Change, Grow, Live (drug and alcohol service) offering support to children and their families alongside the social workers and early help case managers. We currently have a vacancy for an advanced practitioner in the Newark family support and safeguarding team. The team consists of experienced social workers, newly qualified social workers and family support workers and regularly welcome students into the team. As an advanced practitioner you will be the allocated social worker for a limited number of children with complex family circumstances and, under the direction of the Team Manager, will co-work and provide support to social workers to increase their knowledge and skills in high quality assessment, analysis and risk management. You will have supervisory responsibility for a small number of alternatively qualified staff and social work apprentices in the team and will support reflective and group supervision for other social workers. You will need to have 3 years post qualifying experience in children’s social care and have experience of mentoring and supervising others. The family support 'safeguarding teams work with children who are supported by child in need and child protection plans as well as children who are looked after by alternative carers, including foster carers and kinship carers. The teams also work with families within pre-proceedings and care proceedings so a sound knowledge and experience of court work is required. The team is very well supported by business support colleagues and dedicated social work support officers, who are an integral part of the team and enable social workers to spend more time with the children and their families.
