Job title: Repair & Maintenance Operative (Labourer) Ref 40656 Division:Asset Operations & Capital Delivery Location:Lea Bridge Depot - Walthamstow - E5 9RJ Contract type:Permanent Full/Part-time:Full-time Hours:Average 45 hours a week on a shift pattern including a standby rota. Salary:Offering up to £33,926 per annum basic salary with potential to exceed, but not limited to £38,500 with additional allowances and overtime. Job grade:A Closing date:01/05/2025 We will be recruiting for Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Operatives across the North London area to work on a shift pattern of 1 in 4 weekends, 1 in 4 weeks on a late shift, and 1 in 8 weeks on standby on an average of 45 hours per week. What you’ll be doing as a Repair & Maintenance Operative (Labourer): As anR&M Operative , you will be responsible for ensuring that all of the work which you undertake is completed to the correct safety and quality standards as directed by the R&M Technician. What you should bring to the role: Having experience or training in repair and maintenance in the water or other utility industry is essential. Be competent in using a computer and other IT equipment. Use your initiative and problem-solve where repairs are required. Have strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical messages in a simple way. Have a can-do, positive, right-first-time attitude, remaining open to new ideas and change. Work well as part of a team but also alone, using your initiative. You must be able to meet the physical demands of the role with the ability to work outdoors in all weathers. Be self-motivated and confident in completing tasks to the best of your ability. Ideally, you will have all or some of the following qualifications and certifications: Service Avoidance L2. EUSR Water Hygiene. Mains & Service Laying Training. Lorry Loader Training. Deep excavation/trench-timbering training. Abrasive wheels. What’s in it for you?
