Base pay rangeBuyer- Own Label Grocery Up to £50,000 DOE North London I am currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer / Sourcing Manager to join a leading national retailer within their Commercial team in the central office in North London. You will be responsible for driving the Buying strategy to ensure growth in both sales & profitability while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued development within the own brand buying department. As a Sourcing Manager, some of your duties will include: Take full end to end ownership of the commercial 'sourcing strategy for the cost of goods sold (COGS) for own brand categories. Building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. Understand key cost drivers (and impacts) within your category and continuously identify opportunities for improvement. Full responsibility for negotiation of cost price increases and ensuring timelines are communicated throughout the process. Continue to work collaboratively with current suppliers on reducing COGS and expanding range opportunities. Maintain outstanding levels of supplier service and work seamlessly with internal departments to resolve any issues promptly. Always seek new suppliers to deliver a stronger commercial offer than current suppliers, or to supply new/alternate products and categories to the business. Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines with the own brand team. Working closely with the new product development teams to maintain quality levels within products. Presenting reports, figures, and trend information to the Senior Management team. Key requirements for the role: Proven previous Buying / Procurement / Sourcing experience within a fast-moving FMCG / Food environment. Ability to influence and negotiate effectively. Able to adapt swiftly in a fast-paced, ever-changing retail market. Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels. Excellent understanding of all MS Office products.
