Job overviewWe have an exciting opportunity for a Band 8a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Inherited Cardiovascular Disease Service at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital for a 12 month fixed term contract. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who has prior experience in cardiac nursing. The post holder will work closely in a large multidisciplinary team to provide excellent care to patients with cardiomyopathy and complex medical needs by providing specialist advice, information and support to patients, their families and other healthcare professionals. The role will include delivery of care in the inpatient, outpatient and remote settings. The successful candidate will also contribute to the continued development of the service through quality improvement work and education. They will lead a team of 5 nurses and 3 Genetic Counsellors showing collaboration, leadership and enthusiasm for the service. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential as the post holder will act as a source of expertise, and should be familiar with providing a tailored, patient-centred approach to a diverse community of patients.
