We'll look to you as an expert in your field to support and mentor the junior nurses, using your in-depth clinical knowledge to guide and support them while also stepping up and leading the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge nurse. It's a varied role. One day you could be implementing and evaluating holistic care plans for children in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team, the next participating in audits or quality improvement projects to continually improve the care we provide.
