We are looking for a versatile and enthusiastic apprentice to provide support to children across the school including those with special educational needs. You will be working under the direction of the class teacher and the SEND Manager. Please note, as this salary is pro-rated the ACTUAL SALARY for this vacancy is £ 11,950.00 Training course: Teaching assistant (level 3) Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm (may vary). 1 day you will attend college 9.00am - 4.30pm. 32 hours a week Duration: 1 year 6 months WorkMost of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience. What you’ll do at workDuties will include the following: Working in collaboration with the children's class teachers Contributing to records kept on pupil progress Discussing how the children cope with their work with the SENCO and class teachers Directing allocated tasks with the children Be responsible for the welfare, well-being and discipline of the children in the school To have a consistent and positive approach to all aspects of school life Safeguard children's health and safety Follow all procedures in the Health and Safety of the school Discuss with the Child Protection co-ordinator suspected abuse or signs of non-accidental injury Cater for the personal needs of SEN children (including personal care and toileting) Support children during the lunch period and contribute to the work of the support staff on duty at that time of day The job description is not necessarily a comprehensive definition and you may be required to undertake other tasks appropriate to the position as the Head Teacher may require Where you’ll workWaremead Road Gants Hill Ilford IG2 6TD TrainingApprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. Support the well-being and mental health of learners. Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures. Apply methods of formative assessment. Use up to date technology safely, to support learning. Encourage safe use of technology by learners. Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning). Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners. Provide feedback to learners.
