About the RoleElectric Vehicle (EV) and Test Technician will lead operation of maintenance, diagnostic, repair and instrumentation of Changan development vehicle hazardous voltage systems. This role will encompass both vehicle and test rig based activities.RequirementsAt least 2 years technical experience of working on electric vehicles, especially working with hazardous voltage drive and battery systems. This could be from of work at a vehicle test site, automotive manufacturers or vehicle service centre. Must be qualified to work on electrical systems which could include dealer service training or independent training provider or accredited course.NVQ Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance or equivalentQualification to work on hazardous voltage electric vehicle systemsWorked as an EV/Electrical vehicle technicianUnderstanding of EV systems including e-machines; Inverters; Batteries; Battery management systems; DCDC; Vehicle ChargingKnowledge of rig control and data acquisition systems of benefit (AVL PUMA, SCP CADET)Full valid driver’s licenseDuties & ResponsibilitiesInstrumentation of powertrains and vehicles for test, development and diagnosticsSupport test rig based testing of component and powertrain systemsCarry out servicing, repairs and vehicle upgradesFault finding on the vehicle powertrain and test cell equipmentObtaining test data and initial analysis and interpretation of test resultsLeading testing activities and working closely with project teamsOwnership of data output from testDay-to-day maintenance and improvement of test cellsContribute on advanced testing projects including vehicle projectsWork within the restrictions of Electrical Permit to Work systemsOther FeaturesPrimary location will be at Birmingham Business ParkTravel may be required but depends on project requirementMust be eligible to work in the UKSalaryCompetitive salary package, negotiable depending on qualifications and experienceIf you are selected for an interview, our recruitment team will contact you directly.
