This role involves the independent management of patients, performing key fertility procedures, and contributing to the overall success of the clinic by ensuring the highest standards of safety, patient satisfaction and successful treatment outcomes for those undergoing fertility care.Duties and Objectives:Effective clinical management of patients, working collaboratively with colleaguesEnsure the safe and effective care of all patientsAbility to work efficiently under pressure, delivering the highest standard of care to patientsAvailability for emergency on-call duties, weekend shifts and bank holiday rotationsIndependently conducting consultations, ultrasound scans, egg collections, embryo transfers and other relevant procedures in line with clinic protocolsParticipation in a rota system to ensure efficient and consistent clinical service deliveryConduct regular audits of clinical practices to maintain high success rates and prevent complications or incidentsContribute to the company's growth strategy by delivering exceptional care and patient outcomesWork as an integral team member, contributing to the effective management and delivery of targetsAttend clinical and other relevant meetings, ensuring that action points are followed upParticipate in research, training and audit programmes to enhance clinical expertiseEngage in clinical and research meetings to stay updated with advancements in the fieldWork under the guidance of the Medical DirectorPrioritise patient satisfaction, safety and success in all aspects of careBe adaptable and flexible with working hours and arrangements as neededEnsure full compliance with HFEA and other regulatory standardsLead or support Open Evenings as requiredKey Results / KPIsHigh Patient Satisfaction: Maintain excellent patient satisfaction and safety outcomesSuccess Rates: Achieve and sustain target success rates for IVF treatmentsRegulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with HFEA and all other relevant regulatory standardsClinical Outcomes: Minimise clinical complications and incidents through effective auditing and practice managementResearch Contribution: Actively engage in and contribute to research and audit initiativesEfficient Service Delivery: Efficiently manage on-call duties, rota commitments, and overall clinical service.QualificationsEducational QualificationsMedical Degree (MBBS or equivalent): EssentialFull GMC Registration: Required, including a valid licence to practise medicine in the UKMRCOG or Equivalent: Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists or an equivalent qualification is essential.Specialist TrainingProven expertise in reproductive medicine and IVF procedures, with competence in transvaginal scanningSignificant experience in obstetrics and gynaecology or reproductive medicine is necessary.Further QualificationsMembership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) or Equivalent:Clinical ExperienceExperience in Reproductive Medicine or IVF: Previous experience in reproductive medicine, fertility treatments, or assisted reproductive technologies (ART) is requiredSurgical Skills: Proficiency in relevant procedures, such as ultrasound-guided egg collection and embryo transfer, is essential.Skills and CompetenciesClinical Expertise: Proficiency in managing fertility patients, conducting egg collections, embryo transfers and ultrasound scansResearch & Audit Skills: Experience in research and audit within the field of reproductive medicineCommunication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and colleaguesTeamwork: Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, even under pressureOrganisational Skills: Excellent time-management and organisational skills, crucial for handling the demands of a busy IVF clinicGovernanceThe post holder will be committed to improving the quality of clinical care across all sites and will actively participate in incident reporting, risk management, and Governance Meetings.AppraisalThe consultant will be expected to undergo annual appraisals conducted by the Medical Director or other designated consultants. The appraisal process will also be part of the information used to revalidate Consultants by the GMC.GMC RevalidationThe role requires full compliance with GMC revalidation guidelines and participation in the revalidation scheme.
